After spending all of last week with his grandparents in Starkville, he's feeling much better.

Ok, so here, he's just resting.. But they played a lot- swimming, splashing and getting lots of TLC.

This was the weekend before:

And with his Great Grandmother, ChaCha

Ben and I spent the week in DC. He was working, I was playing! We had a couple of days to explore together before he had to work. We had a lot of fun, but it was really hot. I guess I was hoping for a slight break in the miserable heat, but no luck.
I went to more museums than one person should attempt to tackle. By the end of the week, I thought my brain may explode. I would call my mom in the evenings and tell her about what I learned. Her response, "My word Evelyn. You really didn't learn anything in history class!"
She was right. All of the information was basically new to me. The Newsuem was one of my favorites. I also really enjoyed the small Apothecary Museum in Alexandria.
Oh, and I feel asleep on the subway--just like a bum.
Ben promised me one really nice meal-my choice. I choose brunch at The Four Seasons. Brunch is my favorite meal. Breakfast foods, bottomless mimosas, and dinner food all combined--what could be better!

Yes, I tasted every one of those desserts. Don't judge.

Besides brunch, the food in DC was pretty mediocre. Maybe we didn't choose the best places?? But the drinks were fabulous!

The Jackie O display at the Newsuem:

Me and Machine Gun Kelly

The Unabomber's cabin from Montana-creepy

Apothecary Museum. There was a hand written letter archived there from Martha Washington. She was requesting a bottle of their finest castor oil for Mr. Washington!

The museum display had hardly changed at all since the 1800's. it was unbelievable. They had canisters for Cannabis, Chloroform...bizarre. (This blog probably just threw up a red flag to some FBI department somewhere...)

Overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue.

Georgetown Cupcakes

Seafood docks=Ben's idea of heaven on Earth

Early humans:

Michael as a Neanderthal. :)

We had a lot of fun, and it was really nice to get away for a while. We are so thankful to have such wonderful family to help us keep our sanity!
Some more adorable pics of baby:
Picking blackberries with Babou

Signing the adoption papers--so he says anyway...

Airing out our diaper rash

Blowout at Target. No change of clothes. Amateurs...

Splash pad

Fell asleep during his bottle. First week of daycare

Comparison.

7 Months:
Weighs 20lbs
Eats baby food three times a day and takes 4-5 bottles
Rolls everywhere. Doesn't crawl
Has no teeth yet
Goes to sleep so easily--thank The Lord!
Two rounds of "Twinkle, twinkle", kiss on the forehead and in the bed.
Talks a lot. Is babbling with mamamama, dadadada

My brother and sweet sister-in-law are expecting a baby anytime now. We can't wait to meet baby Carter!

And my mom uncovered this gem. So I thought they were both in tanks. My mistake. The matching tube socks make up for the mistake though. You boys can thank me later!
