We're 3 months old! Well, he was on the 16th. I'm awful at this blog stuff. I blame it on the crappy computer we have. We have an iPad, can you blog/upload pics from that thing?!?? Does anyone know? I'd be much better at this if I could figure that out.
We've had a pretty uneventful January. We've been spending lots of time at home and soaking up time with Ben. I go back to work in 1 week. I'm afraid I've forgotten how to do my job. I texted my co-worker the other day to see how things were going. After we caught up, I told him I'd see him soon-his reply, "10 more days...not that I'm counting"! It's been rough on him I'm sure. I nearly lost my mind doing the job when he was gone for 1 week on vacation. My boss has called me twice to see when I was coming back, and if I could return sooner. I feel so fortunate I've had such a long leave (16 weeks). I'm so thankful for a wonderful, understanding husband! We've been pinching pennies this last month and we made it work.
Michael has really changed/grown this past month. We weighed him the other night and he was up to 13 pounds! He's so much fun now, and I've really been soaking up my last few days at home with him. I kind of felt bad letting him nap on me during the afternoons, but I knew it would be over soon, so I've yet to stop! I'm sure Nonna will not be happy (sorry Mom)!
At 3 months:
He eats about 7 oz a feeding.
Smiles and coos all the time.
Loves watching the dogs run and play.
Loves being outside and going for walks in the Baby Bjorn/Moby Wrap
Has had a couple of nights of 10+ hours of sleep!
Grabs and swats at his toys.
Fits in his 3 month clothes perfectly and is wearing a size 2 diaper.
Is rolling over a little (from back to tummy)
Can sit in his Bumbo for short periods of time
Outgrew his "newborn sling" for his bathtub :( I don't know why this makes me so sad...
Ginger Alexander, a dear family friend, made this beautiful quilt for Michael. I just love it! The other side is rubber duckies and bubbles--so cute!

Christmas 2012
Our first Christmas as a family of 3! My maternity leave has really worked out well for the holiday season. It's been wonderful being able to spend extended periods of time with our families. Ben was able to take of 2 weeks over the holidays. We're going to be in for a rude awakening come next year.
Our first meeting with Santa was a success! The Pilot Club in Starkville hosted a pancake breakfast with Santa that we attended. This was also Michael's first restaurant outing.

His gifts from us:
Christmas Eve Service- we've been to Sunday School once in Southaven, but this was his first "big church" experience. He lost it right at the beginning, but I was able to get him asleep and we were able to rejoin the service. By the way, he's wearing the outfit he came home from the hospital in. It's huge on him now, maybe he'll fit into it by 6 months.
We celebrated with the Cayson's for our annual ornament exchange. Ben's aunt Jeanne and cousin Aaron
Took a family photo in front of the tree:
Christmas morning in Starkville. The stocking belonged to Ben when he was an infant. The Cayson's were way too generous! We all are very blessed to have such wonderful families
We went to the cabin for Christmas after we had breakfast with the Cayson's. Nonna was insistent on getting a picture of all the kids and grandchildren. Thank goodness! We are terrible about documenting events. We celebrated Christmas with a 4th of July themed dinner this year. Several years ago, we quit having the traditional turkey dinner. After eating it at Thanksgiving, we were all over it and have been doing a different themed dinner ever since. It was storming terribly, but we had hotdogs and hamburgers, deviled eggs, chips, lemonade, and blueberry cobbler and ice cream. It was quite possibly the easiest dinner we've done!
Ben's Aunt Jeanne made this outfit for Michael out of an old sweater of Mike's (Ben's dad).
And this outfit was Ben's at his first Christmas. Keep in mind Ben was 7 months old...
We had a wonderful, wonderful Christmas. I didn't get any pics to document our NYE, but it was very uneventful. Ben was asleep resting up for a deer hunt the next morning. Michael and I rang in the new year drinking a bottle of milk and eating a big bowl of rice cereal!
I'm not even going to make a statement about how I will try and keep up with this blog better..what's the point?!?! Hope to get back to it soon!
2 Month Update-I can't believe I'm so bad at this...
Michael went for his 2 month check up on December 17th. He's finally gaining some weight! He was 10lbs even, 22.5 inches long and 38.5cm head circumference. He's still tiny but catching up!
Around week 6-7 I started have milk supply issues. After many conversations with my lactation consultant and trying new medications, I threw in the towel on nursing (after 7 weeks). I really beat myself up about it, but know that any amount of breast milk is better than nothing! He's exclusively on formula now and gaining weight very well!
At 2 months:
He smiles and coos a good bit.
Is sleeping from about midnight to 6:00 or 7:00 am.
Finally likes his bath
Still cries (a lot) and is pretty impatient :)
Loves it when we sing
Loves his MobyWrap
Is eating Rice Cereal (He started right at 6 weeks and loves it)
Loves his activity mat-isn't crazy about tummy time
